Tape to Digital tips.

Didn't know where to post this so here goes.

I'm an analog guy who is new to the digital realm. I just finished some tracks on my Otari 5050 8 track and transfered them to my Motu 828 Audio Desk program, giving each track a seperate 44K/24 bit transfer track. While they sound OK, the digital tracks seem to lack bottom end oomph and crisp detail. What should I be looking for? Transfers were done nice and hot without clipping.

Try it again at unity - No additional gain. You're in 24-bit... There's no reason to get "nice and hot."
