Tapco s-8 $200

Well, I made an impulsive buy last night. I ordered a pair of Tapco S-8's from MusiciansFriend. I wasn't even looking at that brand, but they have them on clearance for only $200 a pair with free shipping. It seemed like a no-brainer, so I pulled the trigger. Anyone have any comments on these monitors or this purchase.

Well, they've got them listed for $499 now. I don't know why they had them temporarily listed for $200, but I'll take 'em, especially since it was combined with their free shipping offer. They should arrive on Monday.

I remember reading some solid reviews, J. Since Mackie's the designer, after all, you certainly won't find anything better for just $200.

By the way, I like those weird MF sales that happen from time to time. A couple of years back, I ran into M-Audio's SBX sub ($400 for years) at $200 for about a week. I jumped on it, thinking something must be wrong, but the sub was perfect. Chalk up such cheap finds to patience and luck--and then celebrate them.
