Does anyone here use any of the Synth Groove boxes out on the market for anything other than Dance music? I have never bothered to check them out for their synth sounds and sequencing capabilitites. I was wondering what any of you use these boxes for, and how good they are. (I am now looking (on the web) at the Yamaha AN200). Any other such boxes you all are using?
At first I hated them all.. I kinda looked at them as canned music. But a firend of mine (who is actually talented) kinda opened my eyes to the MC505. Its a nifty little box once you get rid of all the presets, which is what I do with all of my synth gear anyhow as soon as I get it. you can actually tweak the hell out of it. Another is the Korg ER1 electribe module.... just this one though.. the rest of the electribes are crap. We use an ER in my current project. We had an EA, but it sucked.
