Sun Rockabilly Sound

Using a VF-80, I have found that if you record or mix the vocals using the "telephone EQ" and use the Presence Room reverb setting on mixdown, then master using the light mix setting, the result is very reminiscent of the 50s sound on some of those classic Sun recordings and Buddy Holly's early work.

Now that I have cable modem capability, I will have to convert the song to mp3 format and post it. The Sun rockabilly ambiance was a complete accident. But this is the reason I have stressed in other threads the necessity of using tracking sheets--if nothing else, they serve as great reminders of how we accomplish some of those happy accidents.
