subwoofer choice till 400 €/$ ?

thank you, i will hear every sub which will be recommended here before i purchase one.

i did look at the new behringer rear panel and see that those have only xlr connectors.

is it possible to go from unbalanced mono 1/4 `` TRS out of my emu 0404 to this behringer sub with xlr inputs ?

subs

seems subs would really be difficult to "mix" in, unless you
have a very tuned or well setup room, and/or large.

nearfield monitors are designed for close range/ short throw etc...3-4ft.

but subs, sounds like a tuff "nearfield" mix. non directional...all over the place.

are there "studio-nearfield" subs as compared to "hi-fi" subs?

are you mixing music or movie/soundtracks or just home recording?

hello coolcat

i have an homestudio and mixing only electronic dance music

my room isn´t big ( 4,5 x 2,5 m )

i know that mixing with an sub isn´t easy but there is no other choice for me to hear below 50 hz.

subs

yeah, i can understand the sub for certain music.

just seems sub range would be harder to control;
in relate to the smaller rooms.

seems like a lot of the 5" and 6.5" speakers
eventually go to subs, soon after purchase.

deepwater went with the Wharfs8.2A over the KRKRP8's.
but also mentions subs...

and 5.1 systems are coming...i mean 6.1..no wait...7.1!!!

How about DUAL SUBS- LEFT AND RIGHT!!!

rocknroll... :)

coolcat you are right, smaller room and sub can´t be right but i don´t want to hear below 50hz only with my ultrasone & alessandro headphones. Would use the sub not all the time, so it could be the new behringer :-) for 199 euro.

When i add Richard Monroe´s recommended m-audios ( thx ) to my list i have 4 subs which i will listen this month but didn´t use an sub until now and it will be difficult for me to make the right decision.

Did read in wharfedale manual that 2 subs are better than one but will use only one - enough is enough :-)

thx mikedaul. did read a time ago that esi and m-audio subs were the same cause esi produced this for m-audio, but m-audio don´t work with esi together and the new sbx isn´t the same - i don´t know. twice the price of an esi.

so i have now this list:

- BEHRINGER TRUTH B2092A -> 199 €
- SAMSON Resolv Sub 120A Subwoofer -> 206 €
- SAMSON Resolv Sub 88A Subwoofer -> 219 €
- ESI sw8000 -> 275 €
- KRK RP10S -> 399 €
- TAPCO SW 10 -> 399 €
- BLUE SKY SUB 8 -> 425 €
- M-AUDIO SBX -> 444 €

Where would you put the subwoofer ?
