Stupid Question: What Does SPL Stand For?

Sound pressure level is a measurement of acoustic power. It is general purpose. You can measure the level of any sound audible to humans. It can be measured over the short term (peak or fast settings on a meter), the mid term (slow) or the long term (dB Lat/Leq). You can narrow the bandwidth to focus on how sounds interfere with verbal communication or leave it wide to measure its damaging effect on hearing.
