Stop that damn clicking! WHat Am I doing wrong?

Ok so I finaly decided on a new firewire interface to upgrade from my M-Audio Mobile pre USB.
I got a M-Audio Firewire Solo.
But I'm still haveing some issues that I cant get rid of.
Heres my gear and such:
Toshiba Centrino Duo Dual 1.60ghz Laptop w/1 gig of mem and 100gig drive.
120gig external USB 2.0 hard drive(SeaGate).
Sonar 5 PE

I for some odd reason cant get rid of the ocational click and pop I tried ebvery thing I can think of from buffers to checking my cables...
I'm stumped.

HELP! heh.

ANyone have sugestions?

Unfortunatly its in everything I'm recording.......
Its leaving artifacts and poping anc clicking along with that.

I think a fresh install is in order.

No digital devices......... :mad:
I did a complete re-install and went through all the cakewalk tips and am still haveing this click or buzz......

Damn!

See if you have anything running in the background, like virus checkers, etc. If anything is suddenly hogging the CPU, that might be the cause.

Beyond that, what's the FireWire chipset on that machine?
