stereo out in yamaha md8 - need help !!!

when i had a stereo out from the yamaha md8 to another mixer - i could not hear any sound at all. When I had the monitor out to the another mixer - all the tracks in md8 , i can hear - no problem.

a) why when I had stereo out to another mixer - the sound is not transmitted ?
b) what is the function of stereo out then ?

Right below the CUE master knob on the MD8 there is an orange button marked "stereo." Have you pushed this in?

I'm assuming you are using all of those little RCA outs on the back of the MD8. I never have used those fellows but just walked in and looked. I'm sure you're not hearing the sounds due to a switch you are not engaging.

Haven't used my MD8 much since I got the Yam 2816 but, if you check your manual, which isn't too bad on that unit, you should find the answer. Or, dial up the Yamaha/MD8 site and ask a techie.

i did press the stereo button. I did read the manual about three times thru and thru. If yours work then I suspect that there is some fault with my set or some settings I forget to set. As far as I know my settings are not complicated.
