Stereo or mono EQ for my rack

I have a HD147, and i'm going to get an EQ to shape more of the bottom end,
I have the head hooked up to the Cab stereo, 8ohm
anyways, my HD147 has an effects loop that has left and right sends and returns,

right now i'm running one of my pedals just through the loop mono (ex: left channel)...
for a parametric EQ, should I get a stereo one? if so would this confuse the wiring of having other pedals/equipment with just a mono input (ex: typical stompboxes)

or should I just get a mono one?
 
what would be a decent parametric rack eq for my situation for the $100-$250 ebay range

the behringer ultra-q decent?
 
Eq's to hunt for on eBay, to name a few, are:

Rane PE 15 or PE 17.

DBX 242.

Yamaha DEQ7 (Digital eq).

Aphex 109.

Symetrix 551 or 552.

Klark Teknik DN 405.

It's a good time to find used hardware eq's because the prices are so low these days. No need to go bottom fishing for Behringer, as if you are patient you can get a much better eq for your budget.
