Starting from scratch...

Hello all!

Hope you're all well.

I have recently decided that I want to start recording again, despite my frustrations last time out. I have been recording some guitar, but I just can't get it to sound remotely good.

I am using a very average amp and electric guitar, a Saffire 6 USB Audio Interface, an SE2000 mic and Logic Pro.

The electric recording that I've uploaded is understandable I guess, because it doesn't sound great before recording, but it's still much worse when listening back. On clean however, I'm not sure why it sounds so bad afterwards, because it sounds so crisp and clean from the amp.

There's also a recording of my acoustic that I've attached, and I'm not sure how to make this sound better either.

Any advice would be great, and thanks in advance.

I don't think the acoustic sounds bad. If you want it to sound a particular way, then I guess we would need to know that in order to help get you from here to there.

The electric sounds like it needs a touch of EQ scooping in the mids, especially lower mids (say around 200-600hz).
