starting a record label

Can someone tell me how do i look about, trade marking, copywriting and registering a name for a record company, or give me a website where i can get information about this topic on? thanks
 
Since a record label is a business, you might try your local small business administration. They have information on all types of industries.

You don't copyright a business name - you'd want to trademark it.....and theres different types of trademarking depending on the $$$$ you want to spend....ie national-regional etc....

Is the company a corporation yet? If not the money is probably spent better there first.....Not sure of websites...I got some books on it though I'll repost when I'm at work and let you know the titles and authors......
