currently im using a 6 bus analog mixer for my recordings and im typically using the premamp of that mixer for my microphones. i was lookin at some small standalone mic preamps by ART and some other companies. the price range is not that bad, most of em are under 100$. which is very reasonable for me, but before buying a thing like that id like to know that if i really need that or not.
i basically use my mixer just coonect all the instruments i play, monitoring and the pre amp section. im using a Audiophile 2496 sound card which doesnt have multiple inputs and i dun record live drums. so my question is, should i buy a preamp, and remove my mixer or should i use both together? or do i really need to buy that preamp?
