Stage box in the studio?

Hello folks

One of these things would work wonders in my studo for keeping cables tidy but I wondered whether it would be bad for the sound quality. They're called stage boxes are they best left to the stage? At the moment my preamps are on my desk (which is a really wide desk) and the mic cables tend to dangle over the desk where I sit and head under the chair towards the center of the room behind me. With something like this I could have the box at the side of the room and all the cables would be out the way.

I use 6 meter xlr cables at the moment does the sound quality degrade if the cable is too long or extensions like this are used?

Thanks in advance.

I use snakes like these in my studio. There is nothing wrong with it and it won't compromise the quality as long as you don't buy a 150 foot snake to get 20 feet.

couldn't do without mine........routes my 8 drumkit mics from my loungeroom into my desk.(Bedroom) via one multi-core cable.....it was an absolute mess before!!
Just try to keep everything balanced!
