sr16 drum saving and patterns

Hi
I dont seem to be able to save my kits on theSR 16.
I select drum kit go through all the pages and pads
then hit the last page 'save kit to ? ' I use 47
then hit play to save.
But when I return to the machine it's a a diferent kit.
Also How do I compose a pattern then save it to replay.
Again I seem to lose the pattern.

I must be missing one bit from my manual.

You need to change the drumkit in the pattern to whatever you saved - in your case 47. I think the default kit for any new pattern is 01.

As for songs - are you in compose mode? The songs should save automatically. I think.

Now that makes sense!

As I compose I play a riff but the replay sounds nothing like I played!
It seems to miss any quick ( tripple kik drum) drum hits.
Is quantize on by default?


I'm slowly getting there!

Yes, and that can be changed in the record set-up window. I usually quantize to 16ths.
