SPDIF Jack, take II

OK guys... This is starting to chafe at my subconcious.

the Card: Phillips psc604

The problem... Can I send Stereo on the SPDIF??

Auxillary info: the Bundled sw is crapola... not using it.. never have seen it booted, since it just crashes. Using standard windows volume controls.. but using Phillips Drivers.
All other functions are good.

what I get when I open the Volume control:

note the "OTHER: SPIDIF OUT" check after?? so, If i click it I get THIS:

Now.. note the Lack of Volume control options. If only I could click "OK".. then I could use it! but I cant. I am forced to choose the playback options.. which has no SPDIF option.
