Soundcraft Spirit E Series Question

I'm looking at a Soundcraft Spirit E series mixer for recording 8 tracks. In their price range how do they stack up? How does the EQ sound? I'm having some problems with my mixer an Alesis Model 24...would this series Soundcraft be a noticable step up?

They are one the same playing field as the Mackie VLZ. Very good for the money. If you want better the Soundcraft M series is the way to go.

Not that many people have used those mixers, so I don't know. Have you tried searching?
