Soundcard question

A simple question, how can I set up my soundcard to record my softsynth? I have the Absynth demo and the cool edit pro recording software and a Gina24 soundcard. Do I have to use the Analog Out of my soundcard to the Analog In of my soundcard or is there other way to feed the sound of the softsynth to the recorder. I don’t want to damage my soundcard, can someone help me on this one?
 
If you have a PC look up a program called audiowire. It will enable you to record tracks internally like this from one app. to another. The demo version gives one stereo "audiowire" which will be plenty for this...and free!!
