Soundcard importance

'ello all. I'm currently using a stock soundcard. Obviously, I know this is just not going to cut it. I'm looking to find out what kind of improvements I could expect to see with the purchase of a new card [I've heard a lot of good about the Audiophile line]. I just don't know what to expect-- improved sound quality, more ease when it comes to recording, et cetera.

Any thoughts?

I'm using a 2.24 GHZ Celeron with 1.25 GB of RAM. I'm running Cubase SE, DFHS, and using a PODxt for my line in.

From that site

"Digital Audio Converters
There are two parts to every audio interface/card that affects the sonic performance profoundly. The first are the software drivers that come with the card. "

If the drivers have ANYTHING to do with the way the card sounds then the drivers are broken. Maybe theyre talking about latency or something
