soundcard doesnt play back midi drums!!!

hi. i have a sound blaster PCI 128 soundcard installed in my computer. i use lots of midi programs such as guitar pro, in which i program instruments to play songs, but theres something ive noticed about the drums. whenever i use the program on my friends computer there are more drum sounds such as synth drums, and several other distinct ones, but when i set mine to synth drums or something else it just plays back the regular drum sound. why is this???

The sounds are just synth sounds built into the card. Chances are your friend has a different or newer card that has more built in sounds than yours. More than likely your card has only the one drum kit, and it's ignoring the patch changes that you send it.
