I'm looking for an inexpensive sound module for a basement studio. Can anyone give me some suggestions. I was thinking of the Korg 03R/W.

I am familiar with the 03R/W enough to recommend it. I own the O1/W which shares a similar set of samples. The filters don't have resonance, and they aren't flexible compared to a lot of today's synths, but the sound of those Korgs was real good. The 3R/W has a multi-timbral mode that is really easy to use for sequencing and layering sounds. The only thing I would be concerned about are the buttons, they were small and kind of cheap. If you are buying it on Ebay, you might want to ask the seller the condition of the buttons and make sure it all works.

I own the Korg 05/R which is pretty inexpensive...Check out www.ugbm.com is a used gear by mail web site...They have a lot of good stuff. Then once you see some of the prices look up the product in a search engine to see what it looks like...
