Greetings,
I am slowly getting back into home recording after the bottom fell out of my life a few years ago. At that time, I lost everything, quite literally, including everything I had recorded on my PC with Cool Edit Pro.
Currently, I am using a 2003 Amax Perspecta Server as a dedicated music PC. The tower stands a menacing 4 feet tall, has (2) power supplies, (3) bootable hard drives and takes two people to carry it. It has been outfitted with Windows XP and has 4Gb of RAM.
I would like to get some ideas for a good sound card, microphone and cable option. My old setup was very primitive and used an old Radio Shack microphone and a sound car with only (1) plug in.
I still have my Cool Edit Pro, but lost the product code, so I am thinking about trying Reaper to start with, but I would appreciate opinions from the forum on that as well.
Thanks very much for your time...Robert
