Till I gey my laptop which will be set up for music mkaing im using my PC. I was wondering what's decent and affordable soundcard I should get to be able to record on my PC at the moment. The card I have has very few inputs. I was looking for something affordable but no too amateurish as I am serious about making music.

At the lower end of the price spectrum I'd look for a USB interface, that way once you get the laptop, you can use the same interface. Look at offerings from M-Audio and Tascam.

For better quality/features robustness, look into FireWire interfaces, same reason... portability. Look at M-Audio FireWire 410 (around $380) or MOTU 828 mkII (around $750).
