If you are referring to the Sony Data Disc used for 8 track recording, or 4 track, etc., you can shop around via the 800 numbers but the price doesn't seem to vary more than a few pezzutos or pennies even.
Musician's Friend ram a scam a while back; they advertised the Sony Data disc for a very good price and shipped TK data discs instead. I called and sent them back and they sent me the same fricking TK discs. I have used the TK disc and not really had any trouble; I just don't like getting scammed by a major vendor of musical gear.
You can search the net and check out prices or call the 800 numbers as I mentioned above. Two track discs costs less for sure but if you have an MD8, you do need the Data Disc to do the 8 tracks.
