Sony Mini Disk 4 track

Am seeking info in the Sony 4 track mini disk recorder. Have tried the Sony.com site but they do not seem to have any information in their multi track digital recorders. Is there a diferent site? Thanks for any help.

A quick Google search on "sony" "4-track" "minidisk" got 104 hits. Looks like the model number is MDM-X4. There are a load of articles on it that look at least a little like user reviews...

For Sony pro/recording gear, I've found the main Sony web site to be nearly unusable. However, http://www.sonyproaudio.com is much better: that's their European pro-sound web site. Unfortunately, it also appears that the MDM-X4 is a consumer product- which means that it doesn't show up on _either_ site.

Doing another search on "sony" "mdm-x4" got 186 hits, including this review at harmony central: http://www.harmony-central.com/Newp/SNAMM97/Sony/x4.html

That ought to get you going. Sony may not be too forthcoming with info on their own sites (Gawd only knows that I a hard time getting decent info on the MDS-E10 I just bought), but the stuff is definitely out there...

It has been a while since I have been here wow the new look is cool!
I have a Sony MDMX-4II
Great little 4 track expecially for begginers. You should be able to find a used one for cheap since the on slaught of the 8+ track mini disk recorders. Ebay probably has tons.

The MDM is super easy to use. The track ping pong features are really easy. The only gripe I have is there is no phantom power so if you want to use a real good mic like a Nueman or something along those lines you need a power amp with phantom power.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. Oh yeah if you do go with it be sure and get the MDMX-4II not the MDMX-4 the II is revamped and runs smoother and has a couple added features.
