Sonar Dxi issues

Why is it that when i play a Dxi instrument with my MIDI keyboard there is a slight delay from when i pressed the key 2 when i hear the sound from my speakers (about 2 or 3 seconds)? Is it the way i set it up or my hardware?

easy answer, I think...

To get useable latency, your soundcard MUST be using WDM drivers. If not, you'll experience exactly what you are experiencing. Also, check your latency slider, and adjust if necc.
 
yeah

i messed with the latency slide and it fixed it. but now when i wanna play the just the audio i have to set the latency back 2 what i had it before.

what a hassle ohhh well

You need to get WDM drivers from your soundcard vendor. Not all vendors have made them available yet. I know that Delta (M-Audio) and SB Live have WDM drivers, not sure about any others. Check the website for the mfg of your soundcard.

Sonar seems to be the first audio program to make extensive use of these drivers.
