Hey everyone, I had a problem this past weekend during a recording session.
For reference, our set up is as such:
Win XP
Delta 1010
Sonar 4 Producer
Mackie 1642 VLZPRO
Presonus Mic Pre
Various Mics, I'll list if needed.
We've got all of the drums and bass finished for all 4 songs. We started on the guitars, and got 3 songs done. On the 3rd song, we decided to put one more take of guitar chord strumming in the background during a lead-ish type area.
We had double tracked all night. 4 tracks per take. X/Y with 2 57s on the amp, an SP-B1 in the room, and also split out a direct signal in case we want to do something else with that later.
Every thing had worked all night for every song. We made the decision to add that section of chords, no more than 20 seconds worth of recording. Same set up, nothing changed, or moved at all.
But on those 4 tracks, there is a ticktickticktickticktick sound. Very fast. Sounds like it could be some sort of interference, or something?
We tried re-tracking that section a couple times, but we got the tick every time.
I can pull the tracks out, and post a clip later (I'm at work now,) if some would need to hear it.
It's not on any of the other tracks.
Any ideas?
