2.0 came with FX2, which is a relatively crappy dynamics processing plugin.
XL (I think) came with the Timeworks compressor, which is reputedly pretty good. Someone else needs to confirm this, I did not buy the XL version.

If you get sonar 2.0 do yourself a favor and get the VST adapter. There are several freeware VST comps out there that beat the fxcompressor.
