Some mics I'm considering - thoughts?

I'm buying a vocal mic for rock vocals (demo work) (I have a tone in the upper-half of the baritone register)

I owned a SP C1, but didn't really like it. After doing some searching, here are some considerations:

KEL HM-1
MXL V67i
AT3035
Joe Meek JM47a

Thoughts?

Shure SM7B, or a ribbon.

The only one of your list that I own is the Kel, which is a decent mic, but I wouldn't choose it for vocals. Recordings that I've heard of the v67 have never impressed me. It has a really hazy midrange and is kind of fizzy up top.

...I second the SM7B recommendation...works great on male vocals and greatly dimishes the need for an acoustically treated environment (not sensitive to ambient room sounds like a condenser mic)...great mic!!! ;)

Only two mics I've used on your list are the MXL V67 and the AT 3035. Of those two, I liked the 3035. Also agree with Scrubs' assesment of the MXL.
