For some time ago i tried to put together a rock song with the 80's metal vibe to it, then i forgot about it and then now came to think about finishing the song.

So before i start fixing it up i would like to know from all you pro's ans semi-pro's what you think needs to be done with it.

the guitars tone sound pretty shitty and probably needs to be played all over again from scratch.

What about the strutcture?

yeah well, give me some idea's please!

nineteeneightyfive is the name of the song.

Here are my thoughts:

1) Ease back off the reverb a little... at least on the drums.
2) The bass needs more low-end to balance the the guitars
3) Vocals would be nice :D to help direct the the progression of the song.

Good start though.

Damn, that does have an 80's vibe to it. I think the drums sound right for the style. Sort of like Tommy Lee meets Eric Carr. Maybe give the snare a little more low-end to give it that big rock sound. Fix the bass and add some vocals and you're set.

i agree with the reverb, probably used too much on them.
and the bass could need some fix up.
I would like to have vocals on the song but i can't sing or write a lyrics either. Anyone the would like to try?

Greg L:
Funny that you mentioned Tomme Lee, couse i had particulary mötley crue in mind when making the song. :)

It's strange that noone mentioned the guitars, or maybe you didn't because i already said they sucked?

What do you think about the melody and all that?
