I'm curious how much of a difference switching from cool edit pro 2.0 to protools or other more expensive software would make as far as mixing goes?
Are all the plugins much better? Like EQ and reverb and compression?
I've noticed that I can only really get my self to a certain sound with cool edit, and i was wondering if something like protools would expand that in some way because of better plugins.
I know a lot of people will say its the hardware, but i'm focusing on just the software mixing. I have heard some great stuff coming from people with hardware less then mine, but they have "better" software, which is why i'm curious.
Thanks for any input.
