So who is really into Agile?

I see this crap every time I'm on eBay- 10-20 in row for cheap. I swore off the cheap stuff years ago, but lately I've been thinking...

So I come across a guy who does mods and repairs- really into his Dean's. I like Dean- always have. Even the $99 GC's seem to have some merit. We get to talking about doing some work for me, and he does electrical work with the military. Young guy- late 20's/early 30's. Talks with me about soing some hot-rodding and says 'Get some Agile's'. After I spit the fart smell out of my mouth...

I start thinking that many of these imports have some good wood. I looked at some of the LP copies and think it might be worth doing some work on them.

But I just can't get over the fact the these cheapos feel like they need fish weights- or something to make me feel like there's some wood in them. Then I see an old friend listed as an endorsee- He is the hear luthhier and repair guy for one of the top 2-3 vintage places in the country. Next time I'm in the area, I'm going to talk to him, but in the mean time...

can someoen talk some sense in or out of getting a few? Doesn't just about everyone has something comparable that I can get locally? Cheap Pee Wee's, GC specials, etc.

$99- http://www.rondomusic.com/sst623ts.html
$239- solid Mahogany http://www.rondomusic.com/product1220.html
$259 with Wilkinson http://www.rondomusic.com/st802w.html
$369 http://www.rondomusic.com/al3000wineredspalted.html

I just feel... you know... dirty when I think about putting this next to a '71 Deluxe

A buddy of mine got the AL-3000 and loves it. I played it and loved it too. One day I'm gonna be getting one. I don't think you can really go wrong with them and I've never seen anyone who actually has one say anything bad other than it wasn't set up well out of the box (they don't take them out of the box at Rondo, just ship them right off).

I have been to Rondo on many occasions and played many of the Agile models. They are all very decent, to me the wood seems solid and the construction is tight. Expect to upgrade the pots & switches at a minimum. They always have those small korean pots, not the best choice for tone. Other than that a good setup and you will have a nice guitar for little $$...

actually one of the few complaints i actually ever have heard about the LP copies are that they are heavier than gibsons. some of them are 11 or 12 pounds iirc.

be sure to post a review if you get one. ill be in the market for either an agile or xaviere in the next month or so.
