hope this is not a stupid question but what are the diffrences between all the diffrent 414's? I know what AKG says but I am looking for some real world opinions. any of them more desirable?
Most people like the old EB. The TLII uses a version of the C12VR capsule, and is tuned for vox. B-ULS is the current standard version, which is a very versatile studio workhorse mic. There's a brand new version, and I forget the designation, but it seems to be fundamentally different, and it's new enough that not many people have used it. I use the B-ULS, which is a really versatile mic, especially on guitars and percussion.-Richie
