So I got the Shure KSM27

Well, I got the KSM27 finally, and let me tell you! What a difference! It was like night and day!

Now my vocals don't sound as rough. Maybe it was just the combo of the mic with my voice, but the beta87a made everything sound muddy, and slight variations in pitch sounded like glaring problems.

With the KSM27, I feel like I can be creative and not worry about whether or not it will record well.

Anyway, here's a demo I threw together in an hour to demo the vocals. I did some phil collins-like echo on it, cause it sounded cool, but I assure you- the vocals are clear with this new mic!! Woot! Thanks guys!

(Comments on the track are welcome- but please note, I did it in a hurry, and, yes, I know I got a little off on the piano, I only had an hour.)

Wasn't your voice. The 57/58 (both standard and beta) are just really muddy sounding mics....

Shures best mic for the male vocals is arround the same price range...its the SM7...thousands of radio hits thoughout the last 40 years dont lie.

I only break out the LDC for female vocals.

Cool album sounds great.
Now for the next album you can up grade to the KSM32
Then the follow up album to that with the KSM44
