Creamy smooth Offspring rhythm guitar
I like The Offspring's smooth distorted guitar sound but have had trouble emulating it. The problem that arises for me is how you get the chord transitions to sound smooth. I'm not a master guitarist, but I can't conceptualize how they completely mask the abrupt transitions between chords.
I mean, how do you move from a barred E to a barred A while keeping the sound super smooth? Is this a studio or effects trick? I feel like it's not too hard to capture the sound on stage when the audience feeds off the performance but in the studio I just don't know how to fade together the chord transitions.
