SM57's or e604's?

I'm looking for new tom mics, and I heard that SM57's work awesome on toms, but I've also heard that Sennheiser e604's are the way to go.

What are your opinions?

i used some senns once on toms and they were real nice

i hear sm57s are more versatile and you can use em for more things though? id probably go with those.

im a bit of a newbie though so dont take my word for it

i have both. i havent gotten anything out of the e604 that i couldnt get out of an sm57 better. stick with shure if you're on a budget. if you have some extra cash i would grab one for guitar cabs, it can be a nice change.
