Skipping in recording OR USB dropout?

Long time since I've been on here...

Ok, so I record mixes on my PC in to Goldwave from my turntables. I'm noticing that sometimes when I listen back to them, there are skips in the recording, as if the needle skipped. Any help?

Gateway Intel Core i3, 530 @ 2.93GHz, 6GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Lexicon Alpha (latest drivers)
Goldwave v5.58

Probably caused by too small an audio buffer size. Try bumping it up.
