Singlecoil questions for those who know their wiring and electronics stuff.

Black is usually ground but I would refer to the mfg's wiring diagrams first, most of em you can find online, and worst case scenario you will just be "out of phase" if you wire em backwards (i think) * :)

first of all, thank you

well, i have this set of SD jazzmaster pickups that don't have any wires anymore.

so i can only do it this way as i don't have a meter to messure anything.

the wiring scheme says that the bridge pickup is reverse polarity and wound backwards to achieve a humbucking effect when both pus are enabled. does this have any effect on how to wire them?

strangely enough the scheme that came with the pickups displays the neck pickup flipped 180 degrees while the scheme on their website has them both aligned in the same direction. is this of any relevance at all? i suppose not?

alright, so i just wired my new jazzmaster this way.

awesome. not only is it less noisy but also much better sounding. much more powerful with much tighter lows and mids.

thanks guys.

i'll take pictures of the guitar for those who are interested.

still, does it actually matter if one of the PUs is flipped 180 degrees?
