Silly question about Power Supply for keyboard...

This may sound silly but here goes .... :)

I just recently bought a Novation Remote 61 SL, it doesn't come with a power supply (it can also be powered via 4 C batteries) ....

does the brand/make of the power supply matter? Will buying a 'cheaper' power supply ruin or produce less quality from the machine than a 'better' power supply?

The specs says I should get a Standard ‘Centre Positive’ 9V DC 600mA Power Supply.

any help would be great :)

I had that issue not to far ago actually, one of my audio interfaces power supply blew because of an overload to the AC adaptor so i had to buy a new one (not the manufacturers one just a normal one from an electrical store).

all in all, volts are volts and amps are amps, as long as the voltage and ampere rating is the same and its the correct type of adaptor (ie. DC or AC), it'll work.

Best bet is also to do some research up on the topic as the majority of gear in our industry is electronic!

heres a website i found useful with alot of FAQs.

do u realize that the Remote is usb powered?

Would using a midi interface (motu time piece av) be better than using the USB via the keyboard? In the future, if I use other midi controllers, would I lose anything by using the keyboard's midi inputs instead of a dedicated midi interface?

I totally forgot it can be usb powered :P
