OK something I'm doing is making the hihats sound really harsh but I only hear it that bad when I put it up on myspace.

I'm learning a bit about mastering so maybe I'm screwing it up then with the multi-band compression. do you think that's possible?

it sounds to me like you have your master limiter threshold too low. i know you want it loud, but you have to use some more moderate compression first. you can't just do it all in on pass...or maybe just have it at a more conservative level....all that being said, i kinda like the distortion. :)
 
It plays on a myspace streamer so how can I tell - those things are murder to audio.

I need to learn more about mastering for sure. I'LL try pulling the threshold down thanks.

I know myspace sucks that's why I want to make it sound good on there and then it will be better on other stuff.
 
isn't there also some other rule about how many decibels you want to leave for the mastering engineer? maybe I'm sending it to reaper too loud. but it was recorded at -18dbfs.

then I compressed it.
