Shure sm85

How do you feel about the sm85 compared to the sterling audio st51 recording guitar on amps. I've heard the shure 57 is good, but trying to record on a budget. I already own the sm 85 with and recorded vocals, but still haven't really captured the sound I want. Still a beginner as far as mixing goes. Any advice. Thxs

Do you mean sm85 or sm58?
Both exist, but the 58 is super dooper common.

What are you not happy with? Mixing's good for making adjustments and icing the cake, but you should really be pretty happy with the raw sound to start with.
If you have to mix to fix things, then that's just making it hard for yourself.
