shielding monitors

If unshielded monitors have been used around a computer screen, does this *permanently* affect them in any way, or does it only affect them while they are in use. Also, are bucking magnets the solution to this, and I assume you use two of these magnents, one on each speaker?

Thanks

Using unshielded speakers near a computer screen won't affect the speakers in any way, but it may end up damaging the computer monitor.

Bucking magnets are used to shield speakers (one on each driver), but unless the magnets have been specifically designed for your drivers, they may not work effectively...but you could get lucky and find something that does work to some degree.

most computer monitors have a degauss switch that will fix any problems if they weren't exposed to the magnets for too long. I usually have to hit the button if I move my speakers and accidentaly push them too close.
