Shared Living Space - need to build something portable to absorb sound

I was testing some mics recently, getting ready to do some recording. I was in a hurry, and didn't think about how close I was to the wall & window where my desk normally sits. I ended up having some sound bouncing back off of the wall directly in front of the desk. You can here it in the vocal on this recording...

I need to build some portable sound dampening/absorption devices. Since this is the office area of the house, it's a shared environment and I don't have the freedom to build anything stationary. I really don't have the cash to go out and buy one of those neat isolation panels like this...
