Had my Tascam 32 for sale on Junkbay and it didn't sell so I'm planning to use it as a slapback/ tape echo. I'd like to know what the best way is to set this up to get the best sound from it. My mixer is a Mackie 1604 VLZ pro. Should I use my sends and returns, main inserts, or channel inserts? I really wanted to sell this but I guess no one is willing to pay $240.00 for a deck that has new heads, capstan belt, alignment and calibration and looks almost like it came out of the box a few days ago. Oh well, I know I'm rambling but I'm not going to give it away. Anyway, getting back, what speed should I use to get the Elvis/ Sam Phillips sound? can I cut a small section of tape and loop that? Do I need to plug my mic into the deck or can I use my pre's on the console? I've done this before but don't remember how to do it. I need as much detail as possible please. Thanks guys.
