Setting up my gear

Hey

I'm just starting with home audio recording and need some help setting up my gear. I am on a extreme budget so I am not able to buy more gear at the moment.
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated

Equipment I have:
Mixer: behringer Xenyx 802
Mic: behringer C-1
Cubase 5 Software
and the connection cables

How are you getting the audio into your computer? The Xenyx only has analog outs...you will need some sort of interface to convert it to digital audio. Using an RCA to 1/8" stereo adapter, you could plug it into your stock sound card, but the results will leave something to be desired. Most here will likely suggest ditching the mixer (perhaps using it for monitoring instead) and buying a proper audio interface.

Go to the Newbies forum and there are two Stickys that will help you... "Introduction to Multitrack Computer Interface Recording" and "Mixers and Home Recording". These are incredibly helpful.
