Setting up mic cubase

How do I know if Cubase detects my mic or not??? How do i set up my mic in cubase??? yes ive read the getting started bs but it doesnt really help.. :cool:

Im still getting no volume control for recording////
 
You might want to tell us what mic you're using and how you are connecting it to your computer.
 
Cubase doesn't "detect" anything. You set up your interface in the setup, then under VST Connections you route your ins/outs. You will have to select whichever input of your interface your mic is plugged in to for the channel you want to record on.
