Still Learning.......
Just thought I'd throw my two cents in about the e602.
I was recording at my old school today to cover their music students exams and dug out the 602 I used to use when I was there. It's only now that I have used a few other kick drum mics at length that I can really appreciate how amazing this mic is.
A) I used minimal gain on the signal - the mic is sensitive enough to put out a fairly hot signal as it is.
B) I used very little to no EQ on it. The natural sound of the mic was brilliant. Just the perfect enough of hi's to low's, and all in the right places. I didnt even worry too much about placement in the drum, I just placed it pretty much in the middle.
I would strongly urge anyone looking at kick drum mics to try this one out, you will be impressed.
Bit of an odd post I know, but coming back to it has just reminded me of just how good it is.
