Send/Returns not working on guitar?

Hi,

I have a rackmount DSP128 Effects unit hooked up through my mixers post-send and is returning through the left return.

I choose to send my SM58 (xlr) to the unit and the effects work properly.

However if I choose to run my guitar (straight to mixer) I don't get any effects even though I'm still post sending. I get guitar sound but not effects.

Anyone have any idea what this might be?

Double check your settings. It will affect whatever is sent to it so you must not be sending it a signal.

Thats the thing. It has a volume meter thing on it (the effects unit - so you dont peak and clip it accidentaly) and when I play the guitar through it they light up correctly - its just like its not getting returned. But with a microphone plugged in I can hear the effects.
