Running Sonar:

Say I record a very rough mix. But I want to be able to use it later so I want to back it up to a CD-R. What should I put onto the cdr? I put the .wrk file on. But it is only around 25 kb(2 track recording right now) so that can't be all my data? If I lost everything on my computer, could I use the .wrk file as a backup? or do I also need to burn the Wave file? Or some other kind of file?
Thanks,
Daniel

First of all, it sounds like you are not using the latest Sonar patch (1.3.1), since CW has eliminated the .wrk files and replaced them with .cwp files. You might want to consider downloading the patch.

However, in either case what you want to burn to CD for backup purposes is a bundle file (.bun in earlier versions, or .cwb in version 1.3.1).

You are correct .wrk/.cwp files do not contain any audio data. Bundle files contain the complete project - audio and Sonar settings. Make sure to test the file on CD to be sure it opens before deleting it from your hard drive.
