saving edited videos

I'm trying to save audio changes of a .wmv video (made with Windows Movie Maker.) AA lets me import movie and it separates it into audio and video on different tracks. Then after I fix the audio, how do I re-combine the audio/video back into a usable file? I tried saving it in Edit view but it says it must be a .avi file. Must the original video be a .avi file? And if that's the case, why did it even let me import the original .wmv file?

I don't think you can do that in Cool edit.
You can edit audio but for puting all together again you must use Adobe Premier or similar softwere. Cool Edit is audio software. It still can play video and use and edit its audio files but I don't think you kan edit avi files with CEP.
Why don't you edit your audio in CEP and use it in your Movie Maker for audio + video assembling

AA 2.0 has added functionality for movies, 1.5 and later really lacks.

You probably need an app like adobe premiere to do what you want to do.
