Samplers Help??

I have been looking at buying a sampler for some time now but there is somthign i am unsure about! I want a sampler and record drum sounds voices etc and sounds i make on in my studio of about a secon or so!
If I buy a sampler will this enable me to record these sound sintio the amplsre then loop them to make a rhythmical pattern??
This is the sampler I have been looking at its a yamaha SU 200
I have attached a picture of the smapler!

I had a Yamaha SU200...returned it and got a BOSS SP-303..much happier. Throw a 32MB SmartMedia card in the SP-303, get a SmartMedia reader for your PC, and sample away!

P.S. Don't be swayed by the SU200's 'scratch ribbon'...it sucked. The nice thing about the SP-303 is that you can even use it as a sort of (limited) effect processor. Does the job, on a budget.

Software samplers are nice, but I like have a 'real' surface to trigger off of.
